What's Your Favorite Veyron ?

So, the Bugatti Veyron limited editions. There's a buttload of them (some say too much). But hey, a ton of different takes on a fantastic car, what's not to love ? I bet each and every one of you has a particular favorite. I've got a little more than one, if I'm honest, but I've tried to narrow it down to a top 5 :

16.4 Fbg par Hermès (2008)

This one's my all-time favorite. It's brown. It's tasteful. It's perfect.

Grand Sport Vitesse Jean Bugatti (2013)

I know everyone's making fun of the Légendes de Bugatti special editions, but I like them. Yes, they're an obvious attempt at getting rid of the remaining chassis as quickly as possible, but they look like Bugatti are really putting all their design talent in them. Case in point : would you just look at that interior. Almost 10 years old, and yet I think it's prettier than the Huayra's.

Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Costantini (2013)

Why yes, it's another Légendes . But it's French racing blue, and that's the quickest way to my heart.

Grand Sport Sang Bleu (2010)

I'm usually not a big fan of the shiny bits they've put on some Veyrons, but when it's done right and in a restrained manner, it's gorgeous.

Grand Sport Bernar Venet (2012)

Taking the last place on this list of cars I'll probably never see, let alone own, is this odd one. It's not really the final result that I like, more the idea behind it and the execution. I'll let the artist himself explain it, in probably the thickest French accent I've ever heard :

I am not a fan of the veyron. The whole concept of the car has always seemed lazy to me, the aesthetics are meh, and the interior always makes me cringe when I see pictures.

Would I daily drive one? Sure, but I would never fork over that kind of dough for one, even if I was the richest man alive.

No its not, It's impressive, not beautiful.

I can respect the car cause it is fast, the engine is impressive, but its ugly, large, and just not even exciting to see.

Well, to each their own, I suppose. I don't think it's really pretty, not like a Pagani for example, but I like that it's such a simple and uncomplicated shape, unlike most supercars (even though the Super Sport and the Vitesse have ruined the looks a bit with all the giant air intakes).

I love the lunacy of super cars.

This is so bland and every day it could pass you and if you didn't know what it was it would be "another car"

My grandma said that. One passed us and I was like look a Bugatti. She asked what was so special about it.

I love Spyker, Pagani, Ferrari, all the crazy cars with lines everywhere, intakes all over the place. The madness is beauty to me

Can I get a creamsicle one? Orange body (matte) and white accents (also matte).

I dont love the veyron, but if I had to have it, thats the color. I want it to look delicious.

not a fan of this car, I believe most us here are not. If I had to choose it would be the stock SuperSport Orange/Carbon fiber one. I think an issue is that it's the only car that ZERO wheels look good on. There isn't a single wheel design that fits the Veyron at all

It does seem like most people very much dislike the Veyron, but apparently everyone loved the Veneno (which I find absolutely repugnant). It puzzles me a little.

None. As a vehicle I don't like the Veyron. As a feat of engineering it is outstanding, however.
Most people, at least in my experience, who swoon after it are morons who know nothing about cars and just want/like it because a)price, b)speed, c)they think they are supposed to like it.

Its not a celebration of the ultimate automobile but a celebration of ultimate excess. I heard that somewhere and i cant remember where. I'd drive a veyron if i was given it but i'd probably sell it after a while, there are a lot of better ways to spend that kind of cash. But back to the question, aren't all Veyrons a 'one off' or 'special edition' seeing as i very much doubt any two are exactly alike?

Personaly, I swoon over it because a) it's an outstanding feat of engineering, as you said, b) I think it looks great and c) it's a Bugatti, and even though it's got very little in common with the Bugattis of old, the name alone is enough to have me interested. I may be a bit of a badge snob, but there is no need to call people morons just because they love a particular car, you know.

EDIT : I re-read my comment and it sounds much more aggressive than I meant to, sorry. I agree that many people who claim to love the Veyron are of the "pretty sure it's a Lambo dude" persuasion and don't actually know anything about the car other than it's fast and expensive. That being said, it doesn't mean gearheads like us can't like it. There's room for everyone in the big enthusiast family (although I think we should keep the stancers in a shed in the garden).

If I had to have a Veyron (which isn't exactly a harsh punishment but it's not my pick of million dollar supercars) I'd have a super Sport in bare carbon fiber, maybe with a slight Bugatti Blue tint to it.

Lol me too. We here would stop to look at any super/hypercar if spotted in the wild duh, but the very definition of a Jalop is to wave these sorts of vehicles off as meh. The reason, for 1-2 or even 3 million dollars, all of us here can think of dream build vehicles that would tickle our fancy way more than these high end default cars. Plus, most will likely sit in storage of be flaunted in an asshat sort of way. As for our dream builds, we'd daily or track the tits out of them yet on the street, the general public might not even take notice. But that's just fine. Veyron, Agera, Huyauaeraura, Veneno are just not very Jalopy :] That's ok also, still rad

They aren't morons because they like it, not at all and I didn't think that's the message I was sending. It's that they are morons in terms of vehicles in general. They are sheep and for the a,b,c, reasons I listed they are morons who don't actually know why they like it other than they think they should.

You like the look of it, which is a good reason to like it.. lol. But the engineering prowess is hidden away under what I feel is a kind of ugly car. It isn't full out ugly, but it certainly is no Agera or Zonda. The Camry of "hyper" cars in terms of aesthetics.

Your edit hit the nail on the head with my original comment. The enthusiasts or people who like it for solid reasons is perfectly fine with me, why would I care or judge that? But the people I was referring to are the ones I always seems to run into, the people who see a kitted Cavalier and think it is going to run 9 seconds.

No one will read this in all probability, but my favourite would have to be the original. It was, for all intents and purposes, designed to be the fastest car in the world, by the largest automotive company in the world, as an exercise in ridiculousness. I remember the first time it was revealed, and the numbers announced, and I thought that nothing would come of it, and it was a stupid idea.

Then I looked a bit further, and once I got past the shock of the appearance, I loved it. For me, it is the perfect meeting point of practicality, aerodynamics, refined looks and yet screaming "I AM VERY POWERFUL". For me, it is the ultimate car, the pinnacle of automotive engineering.

Would I buy one? Not a chance in hell; I'd kill myself in it before the week was out. I probably would turn into one of those people I hate, who have amazing cars and leave them mouldering in the garage. It's a car that completely transforms the way you look at things, and for that, I love all of them.

If I had any option, though, I'd have to go for the Black Carbon. No paint, just evil, menacing presence.
